How many people do you know who ‘used to go’ to church, but just don’t anymore?

If you are like most Americans, you know quite a few, or maybe you are one of them yourself. According to the book American Church in Crisis by David T. Olsen, “Most Americans have been to church, and yet only 20 percent are regular attendees.” Dr. Gary L. McIntosh from the Talbot School of Theology at Biola University estimates ‘more than 76 million people have attended church at least once in their lifetime.’ Clearly, most people who do not currently attend church did attend at one time. Many of these people – maybe even you – might be willing to try church again, given the opportunity. Back to Church Sunday (September 12) is designed to be that opportunity – a special service dedicated to people who do not regularly attend church, a time when those who have left the church are encouraged to return and give it another try.

That’s why we’re participating in Back to Church Sunday! Who do you know that might give church another chance? We hope you invite them. And we hope you join us for a great time of celebration on September 12!

Sundays in June and July, we’ll be looking at some of the heroes in Scripture and discover how God uses ordinary people to do His extraordinary will. He’s inviting you to join his roster of heroes!

We hope to see you in the Sanctuary for a casual worship service the first two Sunday evenings in June. We will be participating in the One Prayer event, joining over 650,000 Christians in over 1,100 churches around the world as we combine forces to reach the world with Christ’s love. The theme of the One Prayer event is Unstoppable.

We will be challenged and encouraged by  gifted pastors from around the world through video messages as we join believers around the world in worshiping the unstoppable God who is using His unstoppable church to proclaim His unstoppable message!

Maundy Thursday is the name given to the day during Passion Week that Jesus celebrated the Passover with His Disciples and instituted the Lord’s Supper. We hope you’ll join us in the Sanctuary for this powerful, contemplative service as we reflect on the loving sacrifice of the Son of God.

Come and enjoy your choice of homemade soups: Chili, Creamy Cheese & Potato, Chicken Noodle, Vegetable, Hot Sausage & Bean, Ham & Bean, and Taco Soup.

We’ll also have ham salad and peanut butter sandwiches, relishes and delicious homemade pies!

All for a freewill donation, to be used for special church projects.

This will be the final Soup Supper of the season!

Since that day, more than $60 million has been raised for local charities across the country through the Souper Bowl of Caring. It has become a powerful movement that is transforming Super Bowl weekend into a time of giving and serving.

You can be part of this movement that is sharing God’s love with those in need. On Sunday, February 7**, you’ll have the opportunity to give generously as we collect money and canned goods to the Storehouse Ministries Community Food Pantry.
